This department specializes in the diagnosis and therapy of benign and malignant tumors of all organs, benign and malignant diseases of the hemopoietic system as well as of lymphatic and immune diseases.

The following procedures are available for diagnostic purposes:

Hematological laboratory with immediate service and special hemato-oncological diagnosis
Analysis of clotting and immunological disorders
Puncture and biopsy of the bone marrow (iliac crest biopsy)
Sonography with targeted puncture of tumors or lymph nodes
Morphological-cytological diagnosis of
- tumor puncture specimens
- lymph nodes
- bone marrow
- ascites
- pleural puncture specimens
Complete stage examinations (staging) and follow-up treatment with laboratory services, ultrasound, mammography, computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and scintigraphy
Submission of a second opinion

The therapeutic spectrum comprises:

Chemotherapy according to international therapy guidelines,
also on an outpatient basis in a private practice or with portable pumps
Implantation, care and explantation of intravenous port systems
Treatment as part of national and international therapeutic studies
Immunomodulatory therapy
Transfusion of blood and blood constituents
Immunoglobulin substitution
Pain therapy
Palliative medicine
Enteral and parenteral feeding
Psycho-oncological care
