The cardiology division of Klinik Dr. Robert Schindlbeck offers an extensive range of detection and treatment of coronary disorders of all sorts. In this context prevention is of particular importance. Our elaborate investigation opportunities like e.g. cardio MRT enable us to determine and treat vascular disorders in due time. In case of acute myocardial infarction the prospects of survival with a good prognosis improve due to the optimally equipped cardiac catheter laboratory and modern intensive medical therapy procedures. Innovative pace maker therapies are also part of the diversified cardiologic treatment range of Klinik Dr. Robert Schindlbeck.

Cardiac catheter treatment

Since October 2005 we performed more than 8.000 cardiac catheter examinations to identify causes for myocardial diseases, cardiac valve defects and coronary heart diseases. For procedures of this kind a cardiac catheter laboratory with complete diagnostics is available including intravascular ultrasound scan (IVUS) and fractional flow reserve (FFR). Also treatment of chronic obstructive constrictions and occlusions is performed with all standard methods like balloon dilatation (percutaneous transluminal angioplasty PCTA) as well as stent implantations of the most recent generation. For acute coronary patients we introduced 24/7 on-call service; the aftercare takes place at the ICU equipped according to latest standards.

Stroke treatment

A specifically trained team of interdisciplinary specialists takes care of patients during the acute stage at our specific stroke unit. The team includes internists, cardiologists, neurologists as well as therapists of different divisions (speech and occupational therapy, physical medicine). To enhance treatment options the clinic telemedically cooperates with neurologists and neurosurgeons of the University Hospital Augsburg (Tesaurus Project). In this context lysis therapy (dissolution of a blood clot) as well as minimally invasive methods of treatment gain growing significance due to their patient-friendly attributes.
